Griffith Buck roses were developed by Griffith Buck (1915-1991), a professor at Iowa State University. His goal was to create roses that looked like hybrid teas but survived the long cold winters and hot humid summers of the American Midwest. He introduced about 90 roses into commerce of which about 60 are still available. Most of them range in height from 3 to 5 feet tall and come in a wide range of colors. See the Griffith Buck rose website of Iowa State University for additional information and pictures: www.ag.iastate.edu/centers/cad/rose1.html
